9 Tips For Faster Cleaning

Posted By On November 11, 2009 @ 6:10 pm In Uncategorized | No Comments

Cleaning your home is one of the most tedious tasks – yet it’s something that needs to be done on continual basis. With these tips you can clean your home faster and in a more efficient ways.

Be proactive

This means basically, that doing tasks before the actual cleaning operation. Put those newspapers to basket dedicated to them after reading. Make that bed as soon as you have gotten out of bed. Put those clothes in a closet where they belong after using them.

Being proactive has another side benefit. For example if some of your acquaintances calls you and want to make a surprise visit soon, you have taken care of most of the stuff already and final touches are easier and faster to do.

Open up your windows

Opening up your windows doesn’t magically clean your home, but it does one thing very effectively – it fills your home with fresh air quickly. And breathing fresh air improves your general well-being. Open up your windows if the weather permits it.

Do it at once

If you really want to clean your home quickly, then dedicate a time block for this activity, and do it continually without any stops. Naturally you want to take breaks if it’s a big piece of work ahead of you (if you live in a big home), but otherwise do it in one go.

Declutter first

Less stuff you have, the easier it is to clean. Try to declutter first to make your cleaning efforts easier. It may take some time to do it initially, but it pays in the long run (and you see the benefit whenever you start to clean your home )

Set your home ready for cleaning

Ok, so this is like the tip in the first section – being proactive.  The easiest way to make your cleaning smoother is to check out every room before the cleaning and realize the most uncomfortable spots that are the most difficult to reach.  For example, in some cases I know that I have to move some chairs in order to vacuum clean the floor. So before cleaning, I might put the chairs to a temporary location and put them back after I have finished cleaning.

Do it together

Can you do it with someone else? If so, assign a cleaning task for the rest of the family too. By that way you find the whole operation less tedious, easier and faster to accomplish.

Delegate it

This is the ultimate solution if you can afford it – outsource the whole cleaning for someone else. There are many companies out there which take care of the cleaning for you for a certain price. You can enjoy your clean home without doing the cleaning yourself!

Automate it

Technology can be utilized to make things more automatic. For example there are vacuum cleaners that can operate automatically on set times by themselves (robot vacuum cleaners). These devices used to be rare couple of years ago, but now they are much more common.

Buy material that’s easy to clean

I just hate taking my rugs outside so I bought rugs that can be vacuum-cleaned. By that way I can clean them faster during my cleaning operation.

Conclusion

There are different ways to make the cleaning operation faster as this article has described. If you can keep your household organized, the cleaning becomes faster to accomplish. I truly hope that I can afford to outsource the whole cleaning operation someday so that I don’t have to take care of it at all. But until then, I can take advantage of these small improvements to make the cleaning easier and faster to do.
